Pininfarina to Produce Electric Cars
Jul 4th, 2008 by Melvin
Pininfarina, a sporty car brand from Italy, has heeded the green concept call. Pininfarina and Bollore (a French group) agreed on a 50-50 joint venture to produce electric cars set for release in 2010 under the Pininfarina brand. Investments are said to amount to around 150 million euros.
According to Pininfarina press release, the electric cars will have four seats and will be powered by a battery that provides a range of 250 km in city driving. The battery has a large capacity and can be recharged using electrical outlets.
Any undertaking that aims, in one way or another, to preserve the environment deserves full support. This new project of Pininfarina will surely be welcomed by the green community with a smile. And to think that the electric cars will produce 0% carbon dioxide emissions is a sign that it will not add up to the problems of global warming. Hopefully, these new inventions will be a car of choice not only for environment-friendly drivers but for all European car lovers as well.
